The Konami Tournament Software (KTS) had multiple problems resulting in several long delays. Typically, 8 round regionals don't last 12 hours.

Registration began at 10.30am, the regional began at 12pm, the 8th Round ended at 11pm, and Top 8 ended after midnight. Over 200 duelists showed up to the last Northern California regional hoping to qualify for the 2009 nationals. Yesterday, on June 27, there was a regional in San Jose, CA. There have been several regional qualifier events across North America since the 2009 Anaheim SJC in April. For the past 2 months, Konami has launched an ambitious Organized Play program to appease duelists and fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG after a hiatus of events during the first half of 2009. So basely they mess up and not the system. The HJ did his best, and from what I could tell, applied a standard policy to his decision, so while not perfect, it was unbiased. I pass an attaboy to the Wilson scorekeeper for the great job he did do, and especially his ability to maintain his cool. 3) The KTES also somehow managed to put one player at both table 11 and 13 for round 8. Players may have noticed that by Round 6, pairings were no longer alphanetically posted, but rather posted by tables. By round 6 the staff had figured out the source of the problem, but it took a lot of effort to catch and manage the voids. It would failed to remove the dropped player, instead including him in the next round pairings, and at the same time, it would not give the winner credit for the win.Īnd of course, as you get into the later rounds of an 8 round tournament, more drops = more issues. If Player A and B play, with A winning and b then dropping this version had two major hiccups. 2) The KTES software failed to correctly process drops. (REcommend not changing the initial loads until finished!!!) and the more important issue to watch for. 1) System crashed when during round three, the staff tried to add an additional judge due to the size of the turnout. (btw, Attaboy to the OP for not calling it Cossy the Regionals were using the Konami Tournament Event Software, an updated version.) For those conducting events in the immediate future, Wilson's event had problems.

He understood the system better than I will ever try to. And while it was a good event, with a very competent 'computer literate' scorekeeper, we still endured several issues due to the Konami Tournament Event software. I tried playing for a change at the Wilson regional. Konami Tournament Software by Konami Digital.
